Q. Where is the Career Development and Field Education Office
located?
A. The Career Development and Field Education Office is located in the
Student Center. For easier access, use the lower parking lot.
Q. How do I contact the Career Development and Field Education
Office?
A. The office is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Contact
Professor Evan Heerema, director of career development and field
education, at eheerema@kuyper.edu or at (616) 988-3643. Or
Beth Bras, administrative assistant, at bbras@kuyper.edu or at
(616) 988-3647.
Q. Why are Career Development and Field Education linked
together?
A. Field Education affords students the opportunity to tie the theories
learned in the classroom to practical experiential learning in field
settings. Therefore, field education goes hand in hand with career
development by helping students confirm their career plans and seek
appropriate ministry and professional vocational opportunities.
Q. Are the resources of the Career Development and Field Education
Office available to non-students?
A. Yes. Although most testing instruments are available to students at no
charge -- everyone is welcome to contact the Career Development and
Field Education Office and avail themselves to any information and
resources -- certain testing instruments do have a fee attached
to them.
