Student Employment

As the cost of a college education continues to grow, many students readily accept the fact that they'll have to Kuyper Campus Jobs One work during the school year to make ends meet. Finding enough time for studies, work, and recreation is no small feat. Kuyper College recognizes that fact and helps students find suitable part-time jobs, both on and off campus. One caveat is that work income must remain below a certain level to ensure that financial aid remains unaffected. The Financial Aid Office will help you work out those details.

The Career Development and Field Education Office has many resources available to help you as you enter the job market. There's a list of jobs available on this site. You can obtain a copy of that list in our office as well. For many students, this may be their first time applying for a job. We make available resources on writing résumés, cover letters, and thank-you letters.

At Kuyper College we believe that God has created each one of us with a unique personality mix and a personalized set of strengths, skills, gifts, and abilities. Finding that unique mix is a process that involves personalized discussion, and the process is made easier with the use of career-development tools. Members of the Student Services Office have been trained as Career Development Facilitators to help you find the right tools to use.

One such tool is Gateway to Excellence (GE 120), a course that uses several valuable instruments to begin the process of identifying the unique gifts that God has given you. Some of these instruments include the Spiritual Gifts Inventory, Strengths Finders, and Kolb's Learning Style Inventory. The Strong's Interest Inventory is available to students at no charge; other testing instruments are available for purchase and use. Others from the community may contact Professor Evan Heerema, director of career development and field education, at eheerema@kuyper.eduto discuss these valuable testing instruments or related matters.
