Getting Started with Financial Aid
The first step is applying for your Personal Identification Number (PIN). Your PIN serves as an electronic signature on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and will not be processed by the federal government without it. Both student and parent will need a PIN, unless the student qualifies as an independent.

Next Step in Financial Aid
The FAFSA is available online January 1. The FAFSA is the doorway to government assistance in paying for your higher education. There is a priority deadline of March 1 for Michigan residents. You may submit the FAFSA after this priority deadline. For full consideration, please adhere to the priority deadline.
