Kuyper College Scholarship Information

Kuyper Achievement Awards (KAA)
These awards are based on academic merit and range from $1,000 to $8,000. A minimum ACT score of 21 is required for each award level. Kuyper Achivement Awards are granted based on information provided on the application for admission and the Financial Aid Office will notify prospective students of their award. Awarded on a rolling basis, Kuyper Achievement Awards are renewable for up to 4 years. View this table for more information.

            * Trustee Honors Award (minimum GPA 3.75): Must be accepted by January 1 and participate in the invitation-only Leadership Experience Day on January 22           
            * Presidential Honors Award (minimum GPA of 3.75 )
            * Provost Honors Award (minimum GPA of 3.5)
            * Dean’s Honors Award (minimum GPA of 3.25)
            * Faculty Honors Award (minimum GPA of 3.0)

Christian Leadership Scholarships
This scholarship is sponsored through our Kuyper College alumni and is available to students who have a GPA of 3.2 or higher and are involved in leadership positions. Students must complete an application, write an essay and provide two references.  The Scholarship committee selects two incoming students and two current students to receive this award. The application deadline is February 15. The award is $2,000 per year and renewable for up to four years.

Christian Ministry Scholarships
The Christian Ministry Scholarship recognizes the commitment of parents who work in full-time Christian Ministry such as pastor, missionary or other vocational Christian ministry.  To qualify the parent's primary income must be through a Christian non-profit organization. The student must demonstrates financial need determined by filing for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), enroll for 12 or more credits each semester, have a minimum of 2.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale, and is dependent as defined by the FAFSA. The scholarship will be coordinated with other aid and is based on the availability of funds. Students interested in applying for the Christian Ministry Scholarship should have both their application for admissions and the Christian Ministry Scholarship Application submitted by February 15 for full consideration.

Kuyper College Endowed Scholarships
Kuyper College has an assortment of endowed scholarships that are awarded on the basis of several criteria including financial need, career interest, academic achievement and special status.The Kuyper College endowed scholarships are awarded by the Financial Aid Office based on evaluation of the above criteria, the completion of our Admissions Application along with the FAFSA. A minimum GPA of 2.0 or higher is required to receive this award.

Kuyper College Canadian Aid
The Canadian Grant-in-Aid is awarded to every Kuyper College student from Canada who completes the Canadian Financial Aid Application. Canadian Need-Based Grants are available to Canadian students who complete the Canadian Financial Aid Application and demonstrates financial need. This aid is awarded on a rolling basis. Canadian students also benefit from a Kuyper College exchange-rate allowance of 50 percent and are eligible for the Canada Student Loan Program. Students should submit loan applications through their province’s ministry of education.

Multicultural Scholarships
Several Multicultural Scholarships ranging from $500 to $5,000 are given annually as part of Kuyper College’s efforts to create an intercultural student body and a campus community that celebrates cultural diversity. These scholarships are offered to selected first year students. A GPA of 2.5 or higher is required. Recipients of the Multicultural Scholarships are expected to use their talents at Kuyper College by being involved in student leadership and by striving to develop their academic, spiritual, and social leadership skills.

Kuyper College Sibling Scholarships
Kuyper College will award $500 Sibling Scholarships to students who have at least one sibling who is concurrently enrolled at Kuyper.  Each sibling may receive up to $500 per academic year if they are enrolled full-time, in good academic standing, and considered dependents according to the 2010-2011 FAFSA application.  Qualified siblings should contact the Financial Aid Office to be considered for the scholarship.

The Kuyper College Grant is awarded by the Financial Aid Office to students who demonstrate a signigicant level of unmet need based on the Admissions Application along with the FAFSA and a minimum of 2.0 GPA or higher.

Christian Reformed Church North America
Scholarships offered by the Office of Race Relations to students who plan to avail themselves to train for and to engage in the ministry of racial reconciliation in church and/or in society. The deadline is April 1st.
CRC Race Relations Scholarship Application 

Reformed Church in America
Grants of up to $500 are available to RCA members of certain racial and ethnic backgrounds who attend or plan to attend college. The grants are made on the basis of need. Students who receive a grant will continue to receive a grant for at least the initial amount until they complete their academic program. The deadline is May 1st.

For over 20 years, the Vance H. Havner Scholarship Fund has been used by God to send forth hundreds of effective Christian leaders. The Scholarship Fund  was established in 1978, with the blessing of Dr. Vance H. Havner. It focuses on training pastors, missionaries, and evangelists. The deadline is June 1st.

Sallie Mae Fund
The Sallie Mae Fund sponsors several scholarship programs and supports hundreds of college scholarships. All of our programs are based on financial need, as The Fund seeks to bridge the dollar gap when no one else can. With an estimated $3 billion in private scholarships awarded nationally each year, The Fund aims to send the message that money is available to those who make the effort to apply.

USA Funds® will award $1,500 individual scholarships to students with economic need through USA Funds Access to Education Scholarships®. The deadline is February 15th.

The Hispanic Scholarship Fund
The Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) is the nation's leading organization supporting Hispanic higher education. Founded in 1975, HSF's vision is to stregthen the country by advancing college education among Hispanic Americans. In support of it's mission to double the rate of Hispanics earning college degrees, HSF provides the Latino community more college scholarships than any other organization in the country.

The American Indian Scholarship Fund
The American Indian College Fund provides scholarships and other support for the American Indian students. The Fund disburses approximately 5,000 scholarships annually for American Indian students seeking to better their lives through continued education.

Sponsored by the Grand Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce, is designed for women 30 or older returning to finish their education. The deadline for application is May 4.
