Spring Celebration Gala
On Thursday, April 20 more than 750 friends of Kuyper College gathered to welcome the much- anticipated announcement of the restatement of the College's position. As a ministry-focused Christian leadership college, Kuyper College, founded as Reformed Bible Institute in 1939, continues to thrive through the integration of high academic standards and biblical worldview that sees and lives all of life through the filter of Scriptures. With its 17 academic and ministry majors, Kuyper College offers what many call the best value in Christian higher education today.
The mission of Kuyper College was presented through video presentations, as well as the inspirational music of noted gospel and recording star Corey Emerson and pianist Keith Lynema. Keynote speaker, State Senator Bill Hardiman, challenged the audience with a message on the grace of God and the responsibility and duty that Christians have to share that message across oceans with people whom we do not know as well as across the street with our neighbors.
The evening ended with a tribute to Katie Gunnink, a long-term professor of the College who was recently called home to glory. Before her death, she made it known that her bequest to Kuyper College should be used in part as a matching gift for donations received during the Celebration Gala.
