Athletics Banquet

To celebrate the achievement of the men’s soccer and women’s volleyball teams, Kuyper College hosted a banquet on November 12 for the athletes and their families.

In addition to recognizing the NCCAA Midwest Regional Basketball Player of the year—Abigail Proctor and the NCCAA Midwest Region All Tournament selections—Abigail Proctor and Melissa Tessner—Kuyper presented three special awards to members of each team.

The Most Improved Player Award, given based on dedication to the work necessary to compete not only on the court, but also in the classroom went to Abby Proctor and in Jimson Joseph.

Melissa Tessner and Luke Carrig were presented the Most Valuable Player Cougar Award. The award is given to the player that over the season has had the biggest impact on the team. It is based not only on statistitical box-score contributions but also on leadership, dedication, academic excellence and character.

Finally, the Christian Athlete Award was given to Amanda DeVries and Jeremy Jensema. The award recognizes spiritual dedication including a commitment to leading bible studies, team prayer and involvement in ministry.
