Kuyper College Marks 24th Consecutive Year as Host for Blood Drive
January 26, 2012
Since hosting its first blood drive in 1988, Kuyper College students and staff have donated enough blood to potentially save 2,058 lives.
To Kiri DeYoung, a sophomore at Kuyper College, donating blood is a personal issue of great importance since her younger brother has benefitted from six blood transfusions. “Giving blood is not hard and it doesn’t take any effort,” DeYoung said. “We’ve been called to serve other people and giving blood is one way to do so.
It’s also rewarding to know that by taking 20 minutes out of your day, you’ve helped
someone, maybe even saved their life.”
Kuyper will be hosting its next blood drive on March 29, providing the Kuyper community another opportunity to serve in a simple, yet powerful way.
