A Musical Evening
December 8, 2013
Kuyper’s Choir led by Dr. Carol Hochhalter, and Ensemble led by Dr. Kai Ton Chau, presented a moving concert based on the theme “A Festival of Thanksgiving.” The two groups, consisting of 30 students performed a lovely concert divided into four different parts—giving thanks for creation, provision, salvation and the hope of eternity. Audience involvement was greatly encouraged as well, and many participated in the singing of several hymns such as "Old Hundredth Psalm Tune," "Praise to the Lord, the Almighty" and "Sing Praise to God.”
The audience was also invited to write what they were thankful for on leafs of paper which were subsequently used to adorn a "Thanksgiving Tree." These manifold expressions of thanksgiving now serve to decorate the breezeway connecting Kuyper’s Student Center and the Academic Building. The evening proved to be a wonderful expression of thanks to God expressed through the gift of music.
