Brian Telzerow came to Kuyper College in July of 2003 as professor of youth ministry. Brian is responsible for teaching youth ministry courses, including Foundations of Youth Ministry, Relational Ministry, Leadership and Administration and Issues in Youth Ministry, as well as some educational ministry courses. Professor Telzerow's work experience began with a para-church ministry called Young Life. He spent four years with Young Life in Grand Rapids and two years in Oak Park and River Forest, a suburb of Chicago. After returning to Grand Rapids, Brian spent the next 13 years as the youth minister at Fifth Reformed Church. Currently, Brian is serving as a board member of the local Young Life Committee for northeast Grand Rapids. He is a board member for Words of Hope and coaches boys and girls golf at a local high school.
"The opportunity to teach and train a new generation of youth ministry leaders is very exciting! Coming to Kuyper seems too good to be true. I love everything about youth ministry and plan to continue learning what God has in store for me, for students and for the Kuyper College community."
Brian and his wife Becky are the parents of two teenagers, Stephanie and Evan. Born and raised in Grand Rapids, Brian graduated from Union High School. When not engaged in teaching or conversing about the gospel, he turns to his second passion: golf. Whether in the classroom or on the golf course, Professor Telzerow is very passionate about everything he does. Brian comes to Kuyper College with over 25 years of youth ministry experience and a real passion for reaching kids for Christ.
