Carol Hochhalter joined Kuyper College in 2004 as worship coordinator for chapel. Within six months of her arrival, she assumed the role of choir director and teacher of Music Theory. She was instrumental in the creation of a music and worship major. Carol now teaches courses in Principles of Biblical Worship, Designing and Leading Worship, Congregational Song, Theology and History of Worship and Worship Arts and the Emerging Church. In addition, she has recently earned her doctoral degree from The Institute for Worship Studies, under the leadership of Dr. Robert Webber. Carol has also served as the director of music and worship at Park Church in Holland, Michigan, for 10 years.
"We live in an exciting and challenging time for worship leaders. The combination of a Bible major and communications minor (required of all four-year Kuyper College graduates), along with the music and worship major, is solid and practical training for worship leadership in the local church. The practical experience provided will give graduates both the skills and the knowledge to serve well. I'm thrilled to be able to help musicians use their gifts to encourage and deepen worship in the church today."
Carol and her husband, Tom, live in Holland, Michigan. They have 5 children.
