Graduation

Students must satisfactorily complete all academic requirements for their degree with a 2.00 grade point average.  Each degree program has a specified number of hours required for graduation.  Substitution of courses is permitted only with the approval of the academic dean.

Students who plan to graduate from the College must be in residency at the College during their last two semesters in the programs.  Students who plan to graduate from the College with a bachelor's degree must complete a minimum of two years of study at Kuyper College.

All majors at Kuyper College lead to the awarding of the bachelor's degree, normally after four years of study.  The Bachelor of Science (B.S.) is granted to those completing the required courses in all majors except social work.  A Bachelor of Social Work (B.S.W.) is awarded to those completing the social work major.  General education and Bible and theology requirements are the same for each degree.  The following requirements must be fulfilled to earn a degree from Kuyper College:

  4. All students are required to earn eight hours of field education credit
  5. Students are expected to maintain a 2.5 in their major

The College holds commencement ceremonies in April.  Graduates from both the fall and winter semesters participate in the ceremony.  Students must complete all requirements for graduation, including course work to participate in the ceremony.
