Kuyper College Launches Search for Next President
August 17, 2016
Kuyper College has launched its search for the next president of the 78-year-old Christian College, announced Paul Holtrop, chair of the Presidential Transition Team.
“We are seeking a visionary leader, someone who understands the opportunities and challenges before us and, with dependency on the Holy Spirit, is eager to lead Kuyper College into the future,” Holtrop said.
The college is being assisted by the executive search firm JobfitMatters, a nationally recognized company specializing in higher education and the non-profit sector. Criteria and information about the position is at jobfitmatters.com/kuyper.
Holtrop said the Presidential Search Committee conducted extensive interviews and surveys with students, faculty, staff, alumni, community leaders and trustees to develop a list of key characteristics of the ideal president.
“Those key characteristics include a Christ-centered faith, organizational and business acumen, proven fundraising success, institutional vision, along with an innovative and community building mindset,” Holtrop said.
The college’s fourth president, Dr. Nicholas V. Kroeze, announced in Fall 2015 that he planned to retire in 2017, after 22 years as head of the college. Founded in 1939 as Reformed Bible Institute, Kuyper College enrolls more than 250 students in on-campus and collaborative programs in more than 30 areas of study.
