Spring Celebration Gala

April 29, 2016

At the 2016 Spring Celebration Gala, Kuyper College celebrated God’s faithfulness through more than 76 years of equipping Christian leaders to impact the world for Christ. The Gala’s theme, “Instruments of Grace,” a reflection of II Timothy 2:21. Friends of Kuyper, as well as alumni, faculty, staff and students were part of a gathering of over 400 people at Frederik Meijer Gardens on April 18.

Enjoying the Gardens, attendees began the night with a punchbowl reception. They then heard from Kuyper President, Nicholas V. Kroeze and three student speakers—Marissa Walters, Eduardo Mercado, and Yanelis Castillo. A performance by the Kuyper College Choir included “Glorious Grace,” a composition by class of 2016 music and worship major, Luke Carrig.

The 2016 H.J. Kuiper Service Award, representative of dedication to life-long service in Kingdom work was presented to Henry and Carolyn Bouma.

The Gala is a “celebration of God’s faithfulness to the College and the greater Kuyper Community, with proceedings benefiting the College’s annual fund which helps to keep tuition affordable for every Kuyper student,” said Teresa Janzen, Kuyper’s Senior Development Representative and Coordinator of the Annual Fund. Indeed, this year was no different—a celebration of all that God has done through the Kuyper community in the past, is presently doing, and will continue do in the future.
