Community Services

The Campus Safety Department offers a variety of services to the Kuyper community in order to provide a presence of security and safety. In addition to the following services, officers are also available during evening hours to answer any questions you may have regarding Kuyper College. We can be found at the information desk in the Student Center Building.

While Kuyper is a safe community, there may be a time when you may appreciate someone walking you from your car to your residence hall, office or other campus location. If that is the case, please do not hesitate to call us at ext. 711 or 616-988-3711.

If you lock your keys in your car while on campus, campus safety officers can help you open your vehicle.

Additionally, if your vehicle’s battery dies on campus, our officers can help jump- start your vehicle. We recommend having your battery checked prior to the winter season as cold weather will drain your battery charge.

All students, staff and faculty are issued an identification card. These cards can be used for a number of services on campus. New students are issued their ID card during orientation. If a replacement card is needed, contact our office.

Campus safety officers are trained in CPR, First Aid and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) operations. They can assist you with immediate medical needs and may decide that the situation warrants a call for emergency medical services.
