KuyperWorks Job Fair

March 8, 2019

To spread the word and provide information to students about the available positions under the new KuyperWorks program, tables  with informational material lined the first and second floor atriums at Kuyper College.

Among the many other benefits it offers, KuyperWorks offers on-campus work experience to students in exchange for payment toward tuition. According to Curt Essenburg, Director of Student Development and Campus Operations, KuyperWorks is the way in which the College recognizes that learning happens through work, and that all work is meaningful. “We are going to use KuyperWorks as a way to teach students how to be good professionals as they move into both their calling, as a student now, as well as whatever they are called to in the future.” By participating in the KuyperWork program, students gain vital job skills such as professionalism, initiative, and cooperation, as well as $2,000 toward tuition and $400 in pocket money. They also receive a job transcript to show future potential employers their competency in different job skills.

Information at the KuyperWorks Job Fair advertised about sixty different available positions in various on-campus departments. There were openings for every interest, including positions in the student development, advancement, admissions, academic and business offices, as well as campus operations, the library, and the kitchen.

After reviewing the material, several students said that they had never heard of some of the positions that were available.
Now that the fair is over, departments can start the exciting hiring and training process.
