Student Development at Kuyper
At Kuyper, we believe that learning happens inside and outside the classroom. The Student Development Office will support you as you learn and grow. From chapel services and studies to retreats, student leadership opportunities, and one-on-one coaching, we’ll be there. Student Development will provide you with resources to become a lifelong learner prepared to serve.
“I think of my start as a scared young student. Now I am on the front lines of ministry. I have God to thank for that, and Kuyper College to thank for that. What a wonderful institution.”

Student Success Program
The goal of the Student Success program is to challenge and serve you and the rest of the Kuyper student community, helping where each of you has need. Student Success coaches are a select group of upperclassmen under the supervision of the assistant director of student development. They work one-on-one with students in the academic, emotional, social, and spiritual areas of their lives. They listen and advise them as they navigate personal and group dynamics.
Spiritual Life
At Kuyper, we gather twice weekly to hear God’s word taught, to sing of God’s faithfulness, and to pray together. Our Ora et Labora services feature speakers who share how their faith impacts the work they are doing. During the fall semester, we have a campus-wide Bible study. During the winter semester, we have a campus-wide book study.

Residence Life
The learning that happens during late-night conversations in the residence hall lounges is immensely valuable. Residential students live in two residential halls, Schaal and Timmer, or in the on-campus Holt Apartments. Each residence hall offers a lounge with a tv, soft seating, and a full kitchen.
Community and Student Activities
There are many activities and intramural events for students, staff, and faculty. Join us for a West Michigan Whitecaps game, Minute to Win It, Christmas banquet, fall festival, or the variety show. Most activities are free. Events that require payment are deeply discounted. Intramural leagues run throughout the year with a rotating schedule of basketball, flag football, volleyball, ping-pong, chess, and more.
