Who comes to Kuyper?

Students from various ethnic and denominational backgrounds. From public, private, or homeschooled backgrounds. And they bring with them different perspectives. As a result, the Kuyper community is stronger. Here we celebrate and learn from what we have in common as well as our uniqueness. Here the love of Christ binds us together.

At Kuyper, community is real and deep. It happens inside and outside the classroom. In dorms. During and after Chapel. At the dining hall and at coffee houses in Grand Rapids. On hiking trails and at the lake. And during those times when a friend needs a friend.

Residence Life

Your time on the Kuyper campus will be much more than a pursuit of learning and getting a diploma. Here you will experience personal and relational growth. While making lifelong friendships as you discover a new world and your part in it.

Spiritual Life

The Kuyper community will help you grow spiritually as you seek God’s direction for your life. In addition to experiencing mentoring relationships with faculty and staff, you will have opportunities for spiritual growth through chapel, worship services, Bible studies, and campus ministries.

Events and Traditions

We have a number of well-known events and traditions. The all-Campus Retreat. The Christmas Banquet. The Backyard Bash. Fun Fest and Variety Show among others. But there is also room for new and creative activities every year. One of the great things about Kuyper is that students always come up with new ways to have fun.

Student Success

Kuyper wants you to succeed. We pair each freshman one-on-one with an upper-class level student who serves as their student success coach. They listen, encourage, and champion them. Student success coaches help students thrive in all aspects of life. Academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually.

Grand Rapids is one of the top 50 places to live and play according to National Geographic Magazine. A combination of world-class entertainment and outdoor paradise offers theater, ballet, opera, professional sports and lovely beaches, national forests, biking trails and downhill slopes.

I was hoping to find a place to belong and to create friendships at Kuyper. I found both—people who cared and loved me in a way that mirrored Christ.
