Grace Ridley Joins the Kuyper College Advancement Team
Grace Ridley is the new Administrative Assistant for the Advancement Office at Kuyper College.
She is a 2021 graduate of Central Michigan University with a Bachelor of Music, Music Theory and Composition degree and comes to Kuyper with prior experience as an administrative assistant, including in the legal field. She also is a self-employed piano teacher, duties she plans to continue.
Ridley is excited to be transitioning to the higher ed field with her new post at the College.
“It seemed ideal for me,” she said simply. “Kuyper is a caring community of people who want to pursue higher learning and God’s path for their lives. I’m excited to be here.”
Growing up in a Christian household, Ridley said she learned the basics of faith but going to Central Michigan meant attending church on her own for the first time in her life. A post-graduation move to Grand Rapids further tested and strengthened her faith and trust in God, she added.
She’s excited to continue her faith journey in the Kuyper workplace and especially eager to collaborate with alumni, students and multiple other Kuyper stakeholders.
Her new role for the College includes a number of critical functions within the Advancement Office.
In addition to providing general administrative support, she will maintain and update donor information, prepare weekly and monthly reports, draft correspondence and much more.
She said she appreciates that her new role puts her into a work environment with an emphasis on collaboration.
“I try to imbue all of my output with a sense of creativity and purpose, and I strongly felt that this attempt would be matched by the organization,” she said. “There is nothing more empowering than being in line with your organization’s beliefs.”
She added that as a musician she already has found a number of kindred spirits at Kuyper and is looking forward to working with them, and others, in creative collaboration.
“I am so excited to be here and see what God has in store,” she said.
