Olivia Juhas is New Kuyper College Admissions Counselor
Olivia Juhas is a new admissions counselor for Kuyper College. A West Michigan native, she attended Grand Rapids Christian and Forest Hills Eastern high schools before earning an undergraduate degree at Calvin University and then graduate studies at Western Michigan University.
At Calvin she majored in psychology with a minor in dance, and her degree from Western Michigan is in school counseling.
“I chose these majors because I wanted to help people through life’s challenges and provide the support I was given by my high school counselor,” she said with a smile.
She added that the job of a Kuyper admissions counselor was especially appealing.
“I pursued this job at Kuyper because I want to make an impact on the lives of young people within the Christian community,” she said. “I am looking forward to interacting with people from various backgrounds and helping them find a place at Kuyper.”
The faith-based foundation of a Kuyper education is something she is excited to bring before high school students and their families.
“I hope to allow students to grow in their faith during their time at Kuyper and to expand their worldview,” she said.
Juhas comes to Kuyper from a position as a guidance counselor at Greenville High School, north of Grand Rapids.
“Olivia brings a wonderful amount of experience in relationship-building and helping high school students find their path and calling,” said Kris Haymon, Kuyper’s director of admissions. “She can’t wait to join our wonderful faith community here at Kuyper and to bring to campus the next generation of students seeking a Christ-centered institution.”
