Dr. Jeff Fisher Appointed Interim Academic Dean

September 8, 2017

“I am very pleased to announce that Dr. Jeff Fisher, Associate Professor of Theological Studies, has been approved by the Board of Trustees to serve as the interim Academic Dean for this current academic year.” With those opening words, in a communication sent to the Kuyper staff, Dr. Patricia Harris—President Elect of Kuyper College, made the announcement of Dr. Fisher’s appointment. In coordination with the presidential transition, Dr. Fisher will officially begin this position on October 12, 2017.

“Dr. Fisher brings great teaching experience and administrative skills to this position,” said Dr. Harris, “And I am confident he will serve the College very well as Interim Academic Dean.”

Dr. Fisher, who joined the Kuyper faculty in 2013, will continue to teach two courses per semester while assuming these new duties.

In an article authored for the Kuyper Newsletter in the Spring of 2015, Dr. Fisher wrote:

“For as long as my visa would allow me to be there [Nepal] God provided me the opportunity to pass on what had been entrusted to me. My wife and I had the opportunity to play a part in training the next generation of reliable [Nepalese] Christian leaders so they could be qualified to teach others. Now, I have the privilege of living out this calling at Kuyper College. As we seek to effectively train students to make a difference in God’s world, I get to pass on these great truths here. My teachers, pastors and mentors were faithful to “entrust” the things of the gospel to me and equip me to teach others. Now it is my turn in this great chain.”

Dr. Fisher holds both a Ph. D. and M.Div. from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School; a Th.M from Calvin Theological Seminary, and a B.S. from the University of Northern Iowa. He was ordained by the Christian Reformed Church in 2004.
