The Kuyper Service Award: Honoring The Advancement Office
This month, Kuyper recognizes the Advancement Office as we continue to honor the recipients of the Kuyper College Service Award. Due to the extraordinary efforts made and challenges faced by everyone during 2020 and the outset of COVID-19, the decision was made to present this award to the entire faculty and staff. Each month, we highlight a different office within the college that exemplifies the qualities of Service Award recipients.
The Advancement Office Staff create and sustain community relationships with alumni, friends, parents, businesses, foundations and churches, offering God-honoring opportunities to invest current year financial gifts and become partners with Kuyper students in their education. These relationships are reinforced through expressions and interactions of gratitude, stewardship, prayer, and friendship. In these ways, the Advancement Office staff seeks to assure continued annual involvement while appropriately introducing these partners to, and encouraging support of, other aspects of the Kuyper community.
The Advancement Office also handles most community relations, creating publications like our quarterly newsletter, maintaining the College website and hosting events like the Golf Outing, Gala, and Carnival at the Ballpark. All of these efforts allow the community to interact with the College in order to learn more about us and support our mission to equip students for ministry and service.
Each of the staff members within the Advancement Office feel passionately about making Kuyper College affordable for students, their responsibilities vary but they all enjoy working together towards a common goal. Ken Capisciolto, Vice President for College Advancement says, “Through our work in advancement we connect with a broad range of community members and organizations to partner with us and raise prayer, volunteer and financial support which enables Kuyper to equip our students well to serve Christ’s church around the world.”
